Lisa Passmore - Chief Designer
Lisa Passmore, a third generation Horticulturist, spent many of her early years working in the family businesses - Blossoms Garden Centre, Blossoms Florist and Blossoms Wholesale Nursery. At Blossoms, Lisa learnt about the business of plant growing, quite literally from the ground up.
Lisa left Blossoms to further develop her skills, spending several years working in the customer service industries in Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
However, Lisa's lifelong passion of Art, Art history, drawing and painting, continued to pull at her heartstrings. At 28 years of age, all the pieces came together and Lisa realised she could combine her creative ability, her love of art, history and drawing, and use her plant knowledge and skills, to design beautiful gardens. With new vision Lisa completed a four-year diploma in Horticulture and Landscape Design.
'Inspired by Nature' Lisa's landscape design and consultancy business was born. For Lisa this is the perfect marriage between her great passions of Art, Horticulture and people. Lisa feels that landscape design is quite simply her 'dream job'.
Talks:
Passionate about plants, landscaping and the environment, Lisa is often called upon to give talks to garden groups and associations. Lisa has spoken at 'The Talking gardens' at Garden Week since 2004, The Cottage Garden Society and the Perth Garden Club, to name a few. In 2007 Lisa was invited to develop and present the Garden Design Course for Homebase Expo in Subiaco. Lisa still presents this course and is thoroughly enjoying sharing her knowledge with her keen students.
TV Presenting:
In 2003 Lisa presented several segments on Perth's Channel Nine 'Gardening WA' TV show. Lisa has also been interviewed by Don Burke on Burke's Backyard for one of her highly acclaimed water-wise garden designs. More recently Lisa was filmed for a You-tube video for Plants4Perth demonstrating one of their new products.
Associations
Lisa is a member of the Horticultural Media Association, and The Landscape Industry Association of Western Australia where she served in the role of President between 2003 and 2005. Lisa is also the past chair of the Kalamunda Community Garden.
